My responsibilities include - preparing exams (CE 284, CE 483), helping students in lab work (CE 111, CE 412), developing coursework/handouts (CE 498, CE 499 - for structural sessions), teaching (CE 459, CE 498, CE 499 - structural sessions) and grading (all courses).

 

As a GRA, involved in the following projects funded by UTCA (University Transportation Center for Alabama):

  • Multimedia resource package for Load Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) of bridges (UTCA project #07401, Principal Investigator: Dr. Toutanji)

  • Multimedia resource package for Load Resistance Factor Rating (LRFR) of bridges (UTCA project #10304, Principal Investigator: Dr. Toutanji)

 

Also, my duties as graduate assistant include:

  • Formatting and developing civil engineering department yearly newsletters, coordinating with the department staff assistant (developed for years 2011, 2012 and 2013 using Adobe InDesign).

  • As Person-in-charge of research laboratory under Dr. Toutanji, helped graduate students in acquiring data from the Data Acquisition System during their tests.

  • As co-ordinator from the civil engineering department, supervised sophmore & junior high school students for a week of engineering activities (Engineering Summer Camp), organized yearly during summer by Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs. (supervised for years 2011, 2012 and 2013).

  • Involved in designing pile foundations, secant piles using British Standards for projects from Doha, Qatar.

  • Involved in designing Flyovers (Banglore - Neelamangala ) based on IRC Codes.

  • Involved in rehabilitation work to modify a building design at krishnapatnam port.

 

Design Engineer.

  • My responsibilities include – communicating with design consultants, check designs using STAAD Pro and check preliminary construction drawings and suggest modifications. All work is under supervision by vice-president of the company.

  • Projects involved in are residential duplex houses, commercial malls and family apartments (2 basements+G+10 floors).
